Checking in...

I've been without a computer for about 3 weeks or so now. My keyboard no longer works so I'm screwed, which is why I haven't been blogging regularly. But I am finally moved down to Tennessee and enjoying it so far. Hopefully I will have a functioning computer and internet connection soon. Anyway, take care until next time.

PASSED!

I forgot to inform you... I passed my written portion of my state board cosmetology testing! I took that test with one hour of sleep and super stressed out about 50 different things! YAY!

Marilyn Monroe

Okay, who doesn't love Marilyn Monroe?! I think she was absolutely beautiful! Not only was she beautiful, she was also intelligent and insightful. I am more than certain you all have read at least one of her quotes. I am going to include some in the post, as well as some facts about her. Also, this picture of her is one of my most favorite pictures! I want to get it framed for my new apartment.
FACTS:
1. Marilyn Monroe was brought up by foster parents Albert and Ida Bolender until the age of seven. Marilyn Monroe wrote in her biography that she believed that Albert, her foster father was actually a woman. In total she had 12 sets of foster parents.

2. When she was 16, Marilyn Monroe married 21 year old James Dougherty in order to avoid being sent to an orphanage or to yet another foster home. She divorced him when she was 20.

3. Marilyn did her famous nude photoshoot in 1947 nearly SIX YEARS BEFORE the photos were used for Playboy's 1953 first edition. the rights to the photos were purchased for $500 by Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Monroe became the first 'Sweetheart of the Month'. Later the name was changed to Playmate of the Month. In 2007, Playboy published 20,000 EXACT replicas of this first edition. Some copies of this republication are still available for purchase for approximately $50.

4. Marilyn's great love was probably baseball giant Joe Dimaggio. When they were married, Joe was intensely jealous of the attention showered on Marilyn Monroe by men everywhere. When the "The Seven Year Itch", was filmed in New York, now famous promotional photos were taken on a subway ventilator outside the Trans-Lux Theater on 52nd Street and Lexington Avenue. Joe watched Marilyn's skirt fly up again and again, revealing her white panties before thousands of enthusiastic photographers and fans. Jealous Joe angrily stormed off. Later the couple had a huge fight in the hotel. Two weeks later they separated and eventually divorced.

5. After their divorce, Joe Dimaggio rescued Marilyn Monroe from forced institutionalization at the Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic (67th Street and York Avenue, NY City). For 20 years after her death he had a dozen red roses delivered to her crypt three times a week. He never remarried. It is claimed that Joe's last words were: "I'll finally get to see Marilyn". (Ugh, I just think that is soooo sweet!)

6. Hugh Hefner owns the burial vault next to Marilyn Monroe at Westwood Memorial Park, Los Angeles, California and intends to be buried there.

Oy

That's about all I have to say. I am getting sick at the most inopportune time. Hello, sinus infection, you are not welcome. Not much else going on. Got some cute decor from Big Lots today. I'll post pics later. Have a good evening.

Well...

If you've noticed I've not been posting too often, like I was. I may tonight. Going to cook something and maybe do a review. We shall see how ambitious I'm feeling. But I have a bottle of already mixed up margarita drink that I'm going to pop open for myself and maybe read a good book on my patio. I may do some packing, who knows.

You're thinking, "Shouldn't she be doing Easter Sunday stuff with the family?".

No. No, I shouldn't because here's a little tidbit, I'm an Orthodox Jew! We don't celebrate Easter like the Christian faith does because man has twisted the word so much, this is not actually the day Christ rose from the dead. Also, Sunday is not the actual Sabbath. Its actually Saturday and you can look that up for yourself. If you look up Easter, it is actually a pagan holiday of fertility. Go ahead, jump on over to Google and see for yourself!

Anyway, this week, I'll be busy getting boxes and packing more. Yesterday I gutted out my bathroom so it'll be easier to clean up really quick the last day I'm here. I just want to get this over and done with. Tomorrow I possible foresee a trip to Big Lots to get jelly beans on sale, hahahaha! And some of this other decor that's on sale now.

But for now... Going to clean up my kitchen a little bit, get some chicken defrosting, pour a drink, and relax!

I Have Returned

Well hello there! My bestie in Florida has been bugging me to blog so here it is. I am back from Tennessee! Now I'm starting to pack and try to cook up all the meat I have in my freezer. I've been approved to live in this gorgeous apartment complex near the university and I am beyond elated to move in! I love moving into a brand new, fresh apartment. I love to decorate. I plan on getting a new bedding set and curtains for my bedroom. The spare room will be in hues of purple because I'm putting my living room curtains in there and I have a pretty purple duvet cover. My living room will probably be black, burgundy, and gold. Bathroom, not sure yet. We shall see. My dining room will still be my classy old school Italian wine vineyard. Kitchen... hmm... maybe cafe/bistro/coffee shop? I have options and am open to suggestions! I'll post more tonight but I really wanted to get this posted now. Toodles!
