Love Letters

So I've been watching Ghost Hunters today, and there was an episode about the Edgewood Plantation, which is located in Virginia. There was said to be a woman that lingers there named Lizzie (Elizabeth) Rowland, and she awaits for her lover to return from the Civil War. He never came home to her and she died of a broken heart. During those times, if a man gave you a diamond ring, you were supposed to carve your initials into a window or glass. She put her whole name in old script. It is still there to this day.

Moving on, I decided to look up love stories during the Civil War and came across some information about Dr. Bowman Bigelow Breed and his wife, Hannah Breed. The doctor and his wife promised to write each other everyday, even if "only a line". From what I understood, when all was said and done, there would end up being about 1000 letters exchanged between the two. Here is a picture of their sacred love letters:

Rain...

So its raining in eastern Tennessee right now... Pretty much storming. I love it. The rain is so relaxing, I'm very much so enjoying it. The lights are off in my apartment and I have the blinds open to let in just enough light. I may light a candle or something to relax a little more. I love candles, too! I'm listening to a song called "Please Don't Leave Quite Yet" by Adam Agin. Very good song, maybe I'll post it on here for you to give a listen. Sorry this post may seem a little scatter brained, but not many people read my blog anyway :)

On a side note I am trying to quit smoking. Bad habit, I know, whatever. I've only smoked for a little over a year and if I can ween myself off of them, I think I'll survive. Tonight I think I may cook some bacon wrapped chicken, we'll see. I've not been in the mood to cook lately. Just going through a funk, you know how it is. Wow, its really coming down outside and for now I'll stop because I'm going to enjoy this peaceful storm :)

RIP My Little Love...

So in my previous post, I mentioned my baby sweet Itzy Bitzy passed away about ten days after our arrival in Tennessee. Due to unfortunate humane reasons, I had to put her down. Itzy Bitzy was that special dog... I trained her and she trained me. Sometimes I could just look at her and she'd know what I was saying without words. I think about her and miss her everyday. My heart completely broke into a million little pieces on May 2, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. Words can't describe how awful that was for me and my eyes are tearing up just thinking about it and remembering...

Funny how animals become like children to you. You don't truly realize how attached you grow to them until they're gone. I really don't want to get too into my feelings about this because I'll just get really upset all over again and I'd rather not... It still hits me sometimes and I'll probably blog about it later when that happens. I love and miss her so much. She was my little world <3

Back for good...

So I just got my internet hooked up today. A lot has happened since I've actually taken the time to type out a blog. Ten days after I arrived in Tennessee, my sweet Itzy Bitzy had to be put down and my heart broke into a million little pieces and still is. I have a new dog, but its not the same and I will make a separate entry for that. I am going back to cosmetology school here to be licensed in Tennessee. I did also pass my state boards in New York so I am a fully fledged licensed cosmetologist there. Now I have a raging headache so I'll post later tonight. Toodles!

Hello, world.

So I just realized I've been supermegatron slacking with the posting and I'm sorry about that. However, regular posts will be up come Thursday since my internet is finally getting hooked up. Lots to post about but for now all is well in Tennessee. Stay tuned! :)
